Hello, and thank you for reading the Eighth Street Films website and blog! My name is Owen Pries, and I’m proud to serve as the Digital Producer for our team here at Wartburg College as we bring the story of Wartburg’s 90-year legacy as the Knights to life.
My path to Wartburg started with running. I grew up in Grimes, Iowa, and I was recruited to run on the Cross Country and Track and Field teams. As soon as I stepped on campus, I knew this was where I wanted my next four years of college to be. What started as an athletic journey quickly became something much, much more. Wartburg has helped me in ways I never could have anticipated, and after four years, this place means more to my family and me than I can put into words. I feel truly blessed to be part of a community with such a rich and lasting tradition.
Academically, I’ve pursued a double focus in Business Administration and Public Relations, which has given me a strong foundation in both strategy and storytelling, two things that come together directly in my work with Eighth Street Films. As Digital Producer, I built our website from the ground up, worked to grow our reach through SEO, and helped develop our social media strategy and content planning. It’s been a great opportunity to apply what I’ve learned in the classroom to something real and meaningful.
Looking ahead to graduation, I’m excited to pursue roles in B2B business sales cycles while continuing to explore my passion for media, film, and television. This documentary represents everything I love about what storytelling can do and I can’t wait for you to see it.
